Our story

Then

As the green meadows and mysterious forests of the Călimani mountains lured us to a secluded piece of Land a few years ago, we found ourselves compelled to camp in the middle of nowhere. There was no cell signal, no noise and only a handful of stray cottages adorned the hills.

It was quiet, wild and a little eerie. We fell in love immediately!

Later, in our (mandatory) visit to the local taverns, we learned that the Land was rich in stories of wolves, shepherds and local folklore. It seemed like nothing we had experienced before, in all of our mountain adventures. It felt like home, but not to the body – to the soul.

It was then that we decided to make sure we had a reason to return to this mysterious Land.

And so, this story began, and the Land slowly turned into Haita Land: a haven for wandering souls, a retreat for the body and mind. A second home. A spiritual home.

Now

Now, Haita Land stands at the border between old and new, archaic and modern, folklore and reality, wild and domestic. We coexist with nature, we keep the place (almost) as wild as we found it, we respect the mountain and in turn, it offers us everything we never knew we needed.

From the terraces and windows of the chalets, you can sometimes see deer roaming by: at home on this Land that is far away from the dangers of the forest, but not too close to the sounds of humans in the valley.

The night sky seems close enough to touch and wanderers often fall asleep gazing at the stars, listening to sounds of the forests.
